There has been an uptick recently in coaching, drug screens, discipline, and terminations. The Company has been taking a more hard-line approach with accidents, delays, and attendance. The belief and shared ideal has always been that management would take corrective action not punitive action when issues arise; this is no longer the case.

Most of the actions taken (outside of attendance) have been cited by the Company to us not following the ROM and / or Company Policy. Protect yourself – be aware of Company Policies and ROM procedures. All that information is available on Jetnet, easy to search and find.

Always follow the ROM, policy, and mostly Safety Rules…….it is better to pause for a time than to injure yourself, others, or cause equipment damage. It’s dangerous out there – be safe even if it results in a delay.

Remember there are camera’s everywhere and they are always recording. The good news is the camera is your friend ! If you are following policy, ROM, and safety practices and are involved in a delay, damage, or other accident – don’t worry it’s all on video. Following all the rules and regs will help to protect you from discipline. Just ask to review the video when an investigation is opened or even for a Coaching……..doing that can mitigate discipline.

Spread the word and help your co-workers to be compliant. The Company sees you as replaceable no matter how senior you are and no matter how “helpful” you’ve been in the past. When push comes to shove, the Company is quick to protect itself by handing out discipline as a deterrent as opposed to addressing the root cause so the issue can be corrected.
