The Employee Assistance Program Rep works with Members to improve the quality of their lives. The Rep offers support though referrals for counseling, rehab, and other programs. They operate as peer to peer and all contacts made are kept confidential.
An effective EAP Rep will need to be available by phone for Members to reach 24/7. The Rep will also need to travel at times for training, to tour facilities, and attend conferences.
No experience is needed to become an EAP Rep beyond the ability to communicate effectively, and a desire to help others in their deepest times of need. The Local will set up training and provide the resources necessary to be of service.
