Holiday Pay Program
By now you have heard that the Company is offering a pay incentive if you show up for work from November 15, 2021 through January 2, 2022.
The payout is $1,000, which will be paid no later than early February 2022. This money will be taxed at the higher “supplemental rate” ie bonus – in California that means 6.6% state and 22% federal. Not sure yet if you can defer to 401K, sometimes they let us and other times not.
The Program is something that the Company has created, it is outside of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which means we can not grieve any things we think are unjust.
The Program clearly says, “perfect attendance”, remember attendance is not the same as sick.
At this time the qualifiers to get the pay incentive are: REG, VTO, FMLA (only when using VC), SWAPS/TRADES, DAT (HAT), FRL, COMP, and UB-PD-BIL.
The Union is still waiting to hear back on:
FRL, COMP, and UB-PD-BIL.
Disqualifiers include: SK, SKU, SKN, SSN, RL, Pandemic/Vaccination, JD, BR, IOD, and UB-PD.
The Company wants you to know: “That’s why we developed a holiday pay program for peak travel days during the next two months, a time when so many of you are away from your families so our customers can be with theirs.”
This pay program was developed solely by the Company with no discussion or input from the Union.
