  • PAYROLL CHANGE ** DELAY **
    Updated On: Jun 08, 2020

THE COMPANY IS BEHIND, AGAIN, AND THE JUNE 1 EMAIL IS STILL NOT READY.....PLEASE CHECK YOUR AA.COM ACCOUNTS.....MAYBE SOMETHING THIS WEEK........

Upcoming changes to the way TWU Fleet Service and TWU Maintenance and Related Members are paid are just around the corner.

This is all part of the transition to Workbrain from our current AutoTa and Staff Admin..  It puts us and the IAM and other workgroups in “alignment” and is part of our new JCBA. Not only will this change impact your pay, it will also change our week start from Saturday to Monday.

Action by you will need to be taken between June 1, 2020 and July 2, 2020 – there will be different offers sent to your aa.com email with instructions for elections to “true up” the “overpayment” we all will have.  You will need to do a DocuSign form to select your options.

Options include comp time, vacation bank, or sick bank or the payroll advance from the Company. Payment deductions for the one-time payroll advance through the Company will begin with the first paycheck dated after February 1, 2021 – keep in mind with this option that the “off set” on your July 17, 2020 paycheck will be taxed at the “supplemental rate” of 22%.

Fleet, GSE, and Facilities will experience changes in the following areas:

    1. Pay date alignment:  While you'll still be paid biweekly (every other Friday), your pay date will shift by one week to reset on July 17, 2020.

    2. Workweek:  Currently, your workweek is Saturday through Friday. Beginning July 13, your new workweek will be Monday through Sunday.

    3. Pay in arrears:  You'll move from a pay current methodology to a pay in arrears methodology. You'll still be paid for all hours you work, but your pay will be based on the actual hours you worked in the previous two-week pay cycle instead of the hours you're scheduled to work in the current two-week pay cycle. Be sure to check out the attached Guide, and keep an eye on your aa.com email, where the Company will send you details about the different payroll advance and payout options that you're eligible for during this transition and what you need to do to elect them.

Ensure you understand what the changes mean for you. If you have questions, check with your manageror email corp.comm@aa.com.

Payroll will send information on these offers via DocuSign, including instructions for electing them, to your aa.com email address on June 1. The choice is yours, but please let them know either way by the July 2 deadline.
