    PAYROLL TRANSITION

Implementation of certain Articles and nuances of others are tied to a payroll transition from AutoTa into Workbrain.  This changeover is in the pipeline for us in July, possibly sooner.

What to expect to be different for us is that our work week will shift from a Saturday start to a Monday start.  This change should not create too many problems and may require only minor adjustments.

Another change will be to the “pay in arrears” methodology from our “pay current” methodology.  What this means to you is when the shift is made in method of pay the Full Timers will experience a payroll delay of 40 hours and Part Timers a delay of 20 hours.  There will be no interruption of pay, however this shift will put you in an “overpayment” situation.

The Association bargained with the Company (see JCBA Letter of Memorandum #4) options of how Members “repay” their “overpayment”.  We can use accrued vacation or accrued sick or any type of compensatory time or a direct payment method to settle the overpayment.  The Company will also offer a no interest loan as method of repayment, the loan will be payroll deduct over a 12-month period.

Regardless of when the payroll transition happens, you do not have to initiate the repayment until February 1, 2021 (see Implementation Agreement dated 03.26.20).

The transition to Workbrain will include a recognition of a single station seniority list and bid and will automate the shift trades/swaps and combine the overtime lists within the Workbrain platform.
