In Station Transfer ….. what is that ?
You probably saw the posting up about In Station Transfers and something about openings in Operations ……
Simply, it’s how to fill vacancies between duty assignments before going to the system – In Station Transfer is exactly that – only SFO. This transfer method does have some rules that you should be aware of, so please read posting carefully and ask questions if you need more information.
Since we have “Duty Assignments”, we need a way to fill any vacancies (when they arise) in the Duty Assignment outside of the contractual yearly Cross Over Bid. In Station Transfer comes first to fill vacancy then it would go System Transfer if no one puts in, or would be used to backfill any vacancy created by the initial In Station movement.
We have 3 duty assignments in SFO: Ramp, TOW, and OPS. Cross Over Bids (open to everyone) are yearly – TOW is in October and OPS is in March each year. This is the other opportunity to switch Duty Assignments.
