    Attention:  All TWU Local 505 Fleet Service Members

    Understanding the April 6th and April 21st pay statements

    Per our JCBA with the Company, we all received our contractual chart rate increase to our compensation. Not surprising, as with many other contractual pay provisions, the Company messed up and started the chart rate increase too soon. This error has now put us in an overpayment situation, and they want their money back.

    The chart rate increase should have started on April 3, 2023 (DOR+36); what the Company accidently did was drop in the pay increase on March 26, 2023. 

    Which equates to us being “overpaid” for all hours worked from March 27, 2023 to April 2, 2023. The Company said the accident happened when they loaded in the CC Premium increase which started March 27th, and then the FSA chart pay dropped in too even though it shouldn’t for an additional week.

    You will see on your April 21, 2023 paycheck, about 2/3 down, an Overpayments line. The line shows the overpayment balance, which is the amount you owe. Some states are either consenting or nonconsenting which means depending on which state you live in, the Company will either deduct the overpayment from your check or send out a “bill” from Accounts Receivables for the overpayment amount. California, Oregon, and Nevada are consenting states, so those Members will be receiving notice of overpayment in the mail in early June. Washington and Utah are nonconsenting states, so those Members will have the overpayment deducted directly from your paycheck.

    The statement of overpayment should be paid when its received or for sure by the due date. It’s messed up we have to fix and their mistake, but do pay it because there can be consequences for not paying.

    Overpayment Notification has been sent to your aa.com email address for those Members in "consenting" states........see attached sample (your amount may be different)........this is just a notice.......the invoice will be coming soon - that's the one you have to pay......

    D. Future year general increases to pay, already included in A and B above, will be applied on the first day of the first pay period following the effective date of the increase.
