On November 10, 2020 an Ordinance amending the QSP (quality standards program) at SFOIA was passed by the SF Board of Supervisors. The amendment was signed and approved by Mayor London Breed on November 20, 2020.
The Ordinance provides that employers at SFOIA are required to provide family health insurance established under Section 14.2 of the Administrative Code.
What does that mean for you ? It means that starting March 21, 2021, in addition to the free Kaiser health care option for employees the ordinance will now require American to include family members in the zero premium option. You will be getting information in the mail about this oppurtunity to participate in the program.

If you or you and your family are already enrolled with Kaiser at zero cost - you don't need to do anything, on your April 8th paycheck you will see the employee contribution changed to zero.
