All Association Members, TWU and IAM, systemwide should expect to recieve WARN letters in the mail to your home or address on file with American Airlines.
WARN - "Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications"
The Company is sending out this letter to all employees as required by law, it must be sent out within 60 days of intent to or reduction of headcount by furlough. To be clear this notice is that furloughs "may" happen not "will". We have no information at this time as to numbers of Members and the stations that may be impacted.
Union Leadership has had dialogue with the Company expressing other options like the offer of more VLOA, and also the Early Out that the Company had said they would offer during negotiations. To be clear, we are NOT willing to concede any of the contractual protections we achieved in our JCBA. The protections include Article 12 REDUCTION IN FORCE / RECALL / VOLUNTARY FURLOUGH; refer to your JCBA Sections A and B.
